I finally managed to justify buying myself a new laptop. I bought it from Novatech, and so far I’m very pleased with it. It’s the model they call X30, and its so new that I had to get them to order it in for me.

Recently I noticed that the root partition on my laptop, which dual-boots WinXP and Debian (Testing/Lenny) was 99% full. I had been installing a lot of stuff and testing KDE 4.1, but never in four years had I come close to filling a 10Gb root partition with just the OS.
