Log files… 5.2Gb?!

Recently I noticed that the root partition onĀ  my laptop, which dual-boots WinXP and Debian (Testing/Lenny) was 99% full. I had been installing a lot of stuff and testing KDE 4.1, but never in four years had I come close to filling a 10Gb root partition with just the OS.

A little hasty maybe….

So I rebooted and found that I had the same problems. My solution at the time was to go to bed.
I got up this morning and decided to check which groups my normal user was a member of. As it turns out, when I was adding myself to the group of users who have access [...]

I remember being put off of KDE [...]

I am getting thoroughly pissed off with the fact that Firefox is called Iceweasel in Debian. I just don’t understand the need for rebranding an open source project. If it were a [...]

Screenshot

This is a recent screenshot from my laptop. It is KDE 3.5.9 running on Debian Sid. I’m always trying to mix and match themes, window decorations and wallpapers to try and achieve a minimal, efficient and slightly retro look without making it ugly. The theme here is QtCurve combined with CDE window decor and KDE’s [...]
